Wrexham hammered Nuneaton to go second and above Newport County.

Johnny Hunt's 20-yard strike opened the scoring before player-manager Andy Morrell nodded in and Neil Ashton's header made it 3-0 at the break.

Robert Ogleby then fired in from the edge of the area and Adrian Cieslewicz added the fifth with a 35-yard strike.

Wes York's 18-yard strike reduced the deficit before Ashton's penalty, after Dean Keates was fouled by Adam Walker, made it 6-1.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Wrexham player-manager Andy Morrell told BBC Radio Wales: "We were a bit nervy, a bit apprehensive I suppose for the first 15-20 minutes because you're coming off the back of a defeat. But once we scored a really good goal that really settled us down.

"I didn't think they could live with the movement to be fair, our front three especially. I'm really pleased. It was a difficult second half because we were three-nil up, some people went into cruise mode.

"It was disappointing to concede, frustrating, but to score six, you know I'd have taken it this morning."
