Rangers: Jim Traynor appointed Ibrox director of communication

Rangers have appointed Jim Traynor as their new director of communication.

The club website reports that he will be "head of media and oversee the development of all media platforms including Rangers TV, digital, online and print publications".

Traynor, 59, has worked as sports editor with the Daily Record and presenter of BBC Radio Scotland's football phone-in show Your Call.

Earlier this month, he wrote his final column for the newspaper.

BBC Radio Scotland will produce a new programme to replace Your Call.
