Glenavon 4-1 Lisburn Distillery
- Published
Glenavon substitute Andy Mitchell bagged a double in a comfortable Mourneview Park win over Distillery.
Gary Hamilton volleyed home to give Glenavon the perfect start and Andy McGrory made it 2-0 before David McCullough pulled one back.
Distillery's hopes faded when Dominic Melly was red-carded on 68 minutes for a two-footed challenge.
Mitchell headed in a minute after coming on and his stylish finish in injury time sealed the three points.
Lurgan Blues player/manager Hamilton netted a sixth minute opener from a Guy Bates cross while Niall Henderson was the provider as McGrory struck after 26 minutes.
McCullough fired home from 18 yards just before the break to give the basement side hope.
Glenavon continued to dominate in the second half and their task was made easier when Melly was dismissed for his tackle on Andy Kilmartin.
Mitchell connected with Kyle Neill's corner to make it 3-1 with 10 minutes left and he fired low and hard into the bottom corner to complete the scoring a minute into added time.
Glenavon's second straight league win takes them 11 points clear of the Whites.
