Linfield secure a 2-1 victory over Dungannon Swifts at Windsor Park in the Irish Premiership

Linfield moved up a place to fifth in the Premiership with this win over Dungannon Swifts at Windsor Park.

Striker Peter Thompson headed in from Michael Carvill's floated free-kick for his fourth goal of the season in the second minute.

Brian McCaul added a 49th-minute penalty after Billy Joe Burns had been bundled over by Fra Brennan.

Stefan Lavery blasted in at the near post after meeting Neal Gawley's cross from the right after 66 minutes.

Alan Blayney made a wonder save from his own defender Jim Ervin to ensure that the Blues took maximum points, clawing the ball away from the top corner.

The champions face a testing trip to Crusaders next Saturday, while Dungannon will entertain Glenavon.
