Shrewsbury Town defender Jermaine Grandison could be out of action until March with a hip problem.

The 22-year-old was forced to come off with the injury during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Swindon Town.

He will now take a two-week rest from training, before a hip specialist decides on the next course of action.

"The worst case scenario is he'll need surgery which could keep him out for months rather than weeks," boss Graham Turner told the club website., external

"But we're hoping that it will settle down with some rest.

"We've got the best people looking at him so it remains to be seen how long he's going to be out."

Grandison has been an integral part of the Shrewsbury side this season, playing 32 times and scoring once.
