Bury have signed young forward Nicky Ajose on loan from Peterborough United for the rest of the season.

Ajose spent the 2010-11 season at Bury, external on loan from Manchester United, scoring 13 goals in 32 games to help the club win promotion to League One.

His form with the Shakers earned him a permanent move to Posh, for whom he has made just three senior appearances.

The 21-year-old has since had loan spells at Scunthorpe United, Chesterfield and Crawley Town.

He is the second new signing made by Bury since the club had their transfer embargo lifted by the Football League.

Blackpool defender Ashley Eastham, who had also previously spent time on loan at Gigg Lane, has joined the Shakers until the end of the campaign.

Manager Kevin Blackwell told BBC North West Tonight: "They know the club. I need players who can come in and hit the ground running.

"There's no time for them to work out where they live, what they do or try and get their lives in order while they're trying to play football. We've got 19 games to save our League One status."
