Coventry 0-1 Yeovil

Yeovil Town edged out fellow promotion hopefuls Coventry City to pick up their sixth consecutive League One victory.

The only goal of the game came on the stroke of half-time from Paddy Madden, his eighth in five appearances.

After home striker Leon Clarke had beaten Glovers keeper Marek Stech to a through ball but failed to convert, Yeovil broke away for Madden to score.

Substitute Stephen Elliott rattled the bar before firing wide and Carl Baker also wasted two chances to equalise.

For Coventry, it was a second home defeat in five days following Tuesday night's 3-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy northern final first-leg reverse against Crewe.

Coventry manager Mark Robins told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire:

"I expect more, I demand more, and we haven't delivered. This week's two games amalgamate into one. You make your own luck and have to work hard in the penalty area to score.

"The opposition aren't going to let you score, unless you're us. We've let them waltz through and gave them a really soft goal.

"We don't want to be a nearly team. We've done really well to get where we are. Everyone's being really nice and slapping us on the back. But, if we want it to remain positive, we've got to work harder in the penalty area.

"We've been wild and wayward with our shooting. Profligate is the word. I'm really thinking about coming out of retirement. We've got to rediscover our goalscoring form."

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset:

"Talk about team-mates you can trust, they were out there today showing signs of absolute desire.

"They showed 100% commitment to the cause and that's what we've asked for.

"Our supporters have given it as well - they were magnificent

"Every game we are getting closer to the top two, but we've got to get in to the play-offs first."
