West Brom's Bradley Garmston joins Colchester United on loan

Colchester United have signed West Brom defender Bradley Garmston on a one-month youth loan.

The 18-year-old, who is capped at Republic of Ireland youth level, has spent the last six years in the Albion academy but has yet to make a first-team appearance.

He can be recalled by the Baggies with 24 hours' notice.

"This is the next level, it's first-team football and it's a level I need to be competing at," he told BBC Essex.

"Colchester have been in decent form and that's good to come into. There's belief here and the spirit is high.

"I'm looking to be in and around the team and learn as much as I can. I'm definitely aiming to get into that team."
