Ballymena are beaten 1-0 by Coleraine with a first-half Curtis Allen goal.

A first-half goal by Curtis Allen ensured that Coleraine continued their dominance of the derby game against Ballymena United.

Allen scored his 16th goal of the season with a 19th-minute header after being left unmarked in the area.

The former Linfield striker found the net after a fine-build-up which culminated in Ruairi Harkin passing for Jamie Tomelty to cross.

The result sees the Bannsiders move up to fourth place in the Premiership.

Coleraine have now won 11 and drawn two of their last 13 competitive fixtures against the Sky Blues.

The home side created a number of half chances, with Howard Beverland blocking a Gary Liggett shot.

Liggett also had a 'goal' disallowed after Gary Thompson was adjudged to have fouled goalkeeper Michael Doherty.

Thompson squandered two chances and James McCabe had a late shot saved.
