Macclesfield 0-0 Woking

  • Published

Macclesfield's hopes of making the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off places are fading after Woking held them to a goalless draw at the Moss Rose.

The result means they are nine points off fifth-placed Grimsby - who have a game in hand - with 10 games remaining.

Macclesfield's Thierry Audel shot wide from inside the box while Woking keeper Seb Brown denied Waide Fairhurst.

Midfielder Keiran Murtagh fired a free kick goalwards in stoppage time but Brown was once again equal to the task.

Woking manager Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

One more point for survival - Hill

"I think the point was thoroughly deserved. Both teams had one or two half chances which were cancelled out.

"There's one more point to get until we get to the magic fifty. That's the target for the club to stay in the conference.

"It's all about Woking surviving in the league and surviving with what we have got."
