Hereford 1-0 Dartford

Josh O'Keefe scored the only goal as Hereford beat 10-man Dartford to stay in contention for a play-off position.

After Stefan Stam had put his early header wide, the hosts went in front on 38 minutes when O'Keefe found the bottom corner with a clinical finish.

Three minutes later, Dartford's Mark Arber was shown a red card for bringing down Ryan Bowman inside the area.

But, after taking the ball off regular taker O'Keefe, Bowman had his spotkick saved by the feet of Louis Wells.

The Dartford keeper also denied Joe Connor with an instinctive save.

O'Keefe's goal took him to double figures for the season (four of which have been penalties), six adrift of Bulls top scorer Bowman.

Hereford's win, following two successive defeats, takes them back up to eighth in the Blue Square Bet Premier table, nine points behind fifth-placed Grimsby Town - with just five games left.

But the attendance was just 662, a record low gate for a league game at Edgar Street.

Bulls boss Martin Foyle told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"There could have been every excuse under the sun tonight. It was cold, the kids are still at school tomorrow and England were on the telly, but we certainly appreciated the support of those who did come.

"I was disappointed that Josh O'Keefe did not take the penalty and that he was not strong enough to get hold of the ball. At 2-0, the game would have been over.

"But it's gone now and we got the three points we thoroughly deserved."
