Wales goalkeeper Jason Brown has joined Ipswich Town on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

Brown, 30, has been without a club since his contract was terminated by mutual consent at Aberdeen in January.

Before his move to Scotland in 2011, he had played just 25 times for three clubs since leaving Gillingham in 2006.

He made more than 100 League appearances for the Gills before joining then Premier League Blackburn in 2006.

During his time at Ewood Park he had loan spells at Leeds, Leyton Orient and Cardiff.

While searching for a club, Brown, who has three Wales caps, received an unexpected boost when he was called up to the Wales squad for February's friendly with Austria in Swansea after Lewis Price withdrew.
