Graham Stack: Barnet have stomach for relegation battle

Barnet goalkeeper Graham Stack says his side still have the stomach for a relegation fight after dropping back into the bottom two in League Two.

The Bees are one point behind Torquay after their 3-2 defeat by the Gulls.

The 31-year-old told BBC London 94.9: "There is still a lot of football to be played this season.

"There is no doubt in my mind that, with the characters and mentality of the group we have got, we will certainly not go down without a fight."

Tuesday's defeat by Torquay means the Bees are back in the relegation places for the first time since early February.

"When I first came [in October] we were already in the relegation zone and chasing and chasing," Barnet player-head coach Edgar Davids said.

"Are you the rabbit or are you the hunter?

"We got back and went on top [of the relegation zone] and sometimes you come up short.

"It was still a great effort and a great comeback and we still believe in it."

Barnet host Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday in what will be their final game at Underhill, which has been their home since 1907.

The north London club will play their games at The Hive, their training complex, from next season.

"We have got a lot riding on the game on Saturday," Stack said.

"There is a lot of history involved and it is a sad day for everyone connected to the club.

"But at the same time it could be a magnificent day with a new start in a fresh stadium.

"There is a lot to play for and we need to get ourselves up for it and realise what it means.

"It will be a very sombre mood if we leave Underhill after all these years we have been there, with all the history involved, if we don't beat Wycombe.

"More importantly, it is about our League status.

"The best way Barnet can celebrate the years at Underhill is by winning the game."
