Colwyn Bay: Frank Sinclair warns against complacency

Colwyn Bay player-boss Frank Sinclair says his players must not be complacent after an "incredible week" which saw them win three games in seven days and move out of the relegation zone.

The Bay had been in the bottom three of Blue Square Bet North since January but a 3-1 home win over Oxford City saw them leapfrog Corby on goal difference.

"It's been incredible but the job's not done," Sinclair said.

"To win three games in seven days is an unbelievable achievement."

The relentless schedule shows no sign of abating in the final week of the season for Sinclair's side.

The Seagulls still have three more league games to play as well as a North Wales Coast FA Cup semi-final against Welsh Cup finalists Prestatyn on Wednesday.

They face Workington away on Saturday, travel to Bradford Park Avenue on Monday before they complete their campaign at home to Gloucester on Saturday week.

Seven points will guarantee survival as they have a game in hand on all their closest rivals.

"It's been tough keeping the players fit and getting them on the pitch," Sinclair said. "We have had so many games in such a short spell.

"We have put in some great performances in the last three games. We have played some great football and really battled too. But we have work to do.

"I would have taken seven points and but getting nine is amazing. It's been a great turnaround and we have given ourselves a chance."

Sinclair, whose return from suspension has coincided with the upturn, insisted he never lost faith his side could survive even when they lost to already relegated Droylsden.

He added: "When we were nine points behind we looked dead and buried. but I really did believe because we drew quite a few games and were playing well enough to win.

"I knew one win could change things."
