Wrexham's Mark Creighton insists no split loyalties

Defender Mark Creighton says there will be no split loyalties when Wrexham face his old club Kidderminster Harriers in the Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs.

Wrexham host the league runners-up in Tuesday's semi-final first leg.

"I've got a lot of love for the club and a lot of people know that but there will be no friends come Tuesday night," Creighton said.

"It's about getting this club [Wrexham] to where it rightfully belongs and hopeful we can do that."

Centre-half Creighton, who suffered a serious knee injury in August, returned as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 1-0 loss at Mansfield, who secured the Conference title ahead of Kidderminster.

But Wrexham still have a lengthy injury list that includes Chris Westwood, Martin Riley and Kevin Thornton.

"We've been very, very unlucky with injuries and things that have gone on and it's about time the luck turned," added Creighton. "Hopefully that will start Tuesday night.

"We deserve a bit of luck now but you also make your own luck. All we can do is go out there and do our best."

Creighton, 31, played 45 minutes for Wrexham's reserve side earlier in the week but could be forced into the action from the start on Tuesday after centre-back David Artell was sent off against Mansfield.

"I'm delighted just to get back out there," added the former Oxford United player.

"I'm not going to be nowhere near 90 minutes match time. I'll always give exactly what I've got and when I've got none left, I've got none left.

"I've always said if the gaffer [player-manager Andy Morrell] needs me then I'm there."
