Reading striker Adam Le Fondre unsure of future

Reading top scorer Adam Le Fondre is unsure whether he will be at the club next season after being left on the bench against Norwich on Saturday.

The 26-year-old has played just 101 minutes out of a possible 360 under new Royals boss Nigel Adkins.

"I'm like every footballer. I want to start, I want to play games and at this moment I'm not getting anything," Le Fondre told BBC Radio Berkshire.

"If it continues I do not know what will happen."

As well as being an unused substitute against Norwich, he also failed to feature against Arsenal and played just 11 minutes against Liverpool. He did, however, play the full game in the 2-0 home defeat by Southampton.

Le Fondre, who has 12 goals from 33 appearances this season, admitted to being baffled as to why Adkins did not turn to him with the club trailing Norwich 2-1 on Saturday.

"We needed goals and that is what I bring to the table," he said.

"I want to play every game, I want to start games but most importantly I want to come on the pitch and affect things and make an impact.

"It is disappointing from my point of view that when we are pressing so hard I can't come on the pitch and influence it.

"I have no idea what happens with me. It's in the club's hands. I've had a half-decent season by my standards."
