A well-known cancer charity has been awarded the naming rights for the 2013 Irish Cup final.

The Irish League's showpiece occasion between Cliftonville and Glentoran on 4 May will be officially titled the Marie Curie Irish Cup Final.

The competition has not had a commercial sponsor since the collapse of sportswear firm JJB last year.

Cliftonville will be aiming to complete the domestic treble as they have won the Premiership and League Cup.

"The cup final is always a special day for players and fans from both clubs," said Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor who is also chairman of the IFA's Challenge Cup Committee.

"There is a huge amount of media coverage around the game, including live television and radio broadcasts, so it will provide a tremendous platform for Marie Curie to raise awareness and spread the word of the great work they do.

"I am glad that we can play a part in that."
