Chesterfield release seven players as Tommy Wright leaves

Chesterfield have released seven players, while assistant manager Tommy Wright has also left the club.

Wright, 47, spent two months in caretaker charge earlier this season after the departure of John Sheridan.

Goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell, defender Neal Trotman, midfielders Craig Clay, Danny Whitaker and Jack Waddle and strikers Scott Boden and Jonathan Wafula have all been released.

Defender Jacob Hazel and full-back Drew Talbot have been offered new deals.

The club have also let reserve team coach Mark Crossley, who joined the Spireites with Wright and Sheridan in 2009, development coach John Dungworth and kitman Kurt McDermott leave the Proact Stadium.
