Andrea Orlandi: Brighton must play calmly away at Crystal Palace

Brighton midfielder Andrea Orlandi says Crystal Palace will want "chaos" in their Championship play-off semi-final.

The Seagulls travel to Selhurst Park for the first leg on Friday.

"We have to keep it as simple as we can and play our normal game because we know Palace do well when there is chaos," Orlandi told BBC Sussex.

"They have some exciting forwards that thrive off that. We've defended really well lately, we need to stay sensible and remember it's a 180-minute game."

Brighton head into the play-offs on a nine-match unbeaten run and have won their last three games.

Conversely, Palace's 3-2 win over Peterborough on the final day of the season ended a winless spell of nine matches.

"It's been a long week of waiting because we all just cannot wait to get started because it's massive to be playing Palace in the play-offs," Orlandi continued.

"We are on a really good run so are in a good moment. They probably aren't so we should take advantage of that.

"It's important to have a good chance for the return leg. We won't be going there for a draw, we want to win, but we are prepared for a tough game."

The 28-year-old moved to the Amex in August 2012 after five years at Swansea City.

During that spell he was part of the squad that won the League One title in 2008 and then secured promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs three years later.

"I feel a much bigger part of the team than I did at Swansea and I'm thriving on the chance to achieve something special for this football club," Orlandi added.

"When I was there I didn't play at all in the play-offs and I was on the bench all the time that season.

"I still think about it, and maybe, as we say in Spain, I thought I had 'missed the last train' to play at Wembley.

"But now, if I get another chance, I'm going to take it."
