Burnley are in talks to sign goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who is nearing the end of his contract with Bristol City.

The Robins, who will be playing League One football next season after finishing bottom of the Championship, have offered Heaton new terms.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche is hoping to sign ex-Cardiff man Heaton, 27, on a long-term deal after his two first-choice keepers in 2012-13 departed.

Jensen, 37, played 311 games in a decade at Turf Moor and admitted to BBC Radio Lancashire that he was given no indication that he had no future at the club until the last few days of the campaign.

"From that perspective, it was a little bit irritating," said the former West Bromwich Albion keeper.

"You want to know early so that you can start speaking to somebody else. Obviously now I only have three months to find another club, when I could have had six months instead. From that perspective, it was disappointing."
