Norwich will sign Javier Garrido for an undisclosed fee on 1 July following his season-long loan from Lazio.

The 28-year-old former Manchester City left-back has agreed a two-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.

He played 33 Premier League games this season as the Canaries secured a second successive campaign in the top flight.

"I'm so happy to have signed full time for Norwich City," the Spaniard, who played at the Etihad between 2007 and 2010, told the club website., external

"I am very comfortable with everything here - the players, the technical staff and the fans - and am very happy we managed to remain in the Premier League where we belong."

Garrido joined Manchester City from Real Sociedad and played 62 times before leaving for Lazio, where he made 21 appearances.

He joined Chris Hughton's Norwich in August in a season-long loan deal.

"I'm delighted to have secured the services of Javi on a permanent basis," said Canaries boss Hughton.

"He has played 34 games for us this season and the fact we've signed him is a testament to the contribution he has made since joining us last summer."
