Millwall defender Danny Shittu has signed a new two-year deal with the Championship club.

The 32-year-old centre-back joined the Lions last August and went on to make 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.

He told the club website:, external "There's been a couple months of talks and I'm delighted to have got it done.

"We have had a lot of ups and for me to be staying here shows that I believe in this club."

The Nigeria international is in his second spell at the Den, having played ten times for the south London outfit in 2010-11 before joining QPR.

Millwall chief executive Andy Ambler added: "We were keen to ensure that the foundations Kenny Jackett has put in place would be available for the new manager to build on.

"Danny was a key element of that."
