The 27-year-old was presented with the supporters' player of the year, players player of the year, away player of the year and top goalscorer awards.

"No one had really heard of Michu before he came to Swansea. He looks an absolute steal now," Roberts said.

"He's been an outstanding signing. It's quite remarkable the form he's shown throughout the season.

"His goals have been vital to the success that Swansea have had this season."

The Spanish player has scored 22 goals during a season in which Swansea won the Capital One Cup and consolidated their position in the Premier League.

He signed a new four-year deal to extend his stay with Swansea City in January.

Michu's fellow Spaniard, Chico Flores, was voted the best newcomer and left-back Ben Davies won the young player of the year.

The 20-year-old Welsh international was handed his opportunity in the first team after Neil Taylor suffered a serious injury in September.

"His performances have been so consistent over the season. He's coped with the pressure, playing against the top sides," Roberts said of Davies.

"He's taken it all in his stride. He's got an old head on young shoulders and he's got stronger and stronger."
