Stevenage defender Jon Ashton has agreed a new two-year-deal, keeping him at Broadhall Way until 2015.

The 30-year-old centre-half has almost fully recovered from an operation on his Achilles which has kept him out of first-team action since September.

"His rehab has been exceptional and we know enough about him to give him a new deal," said chairman Phil Wallace., external

Ashton has made over 160 appearances for Boro since joining the club from Grays Athletic in 2009., external

Meanwhile, manager Graham Westley has revealed that player of the year James Dunne and top scorer Lucas Akins are attracting interest from other clubs.

"James and Lucas are in demand and provided that the bid is right, we will not stand in their way," said Westley.

"Interest is high; they have both been watched by serious clubs, higher up the pyramid right now, so I am planning to be without them for sure".
