Huddersfield: Oscar Gobern signs new two-year deal

Huddersfield midfielder Oscar Gobern has signed a new two-year contract with an option of an additional year in the Championship club's favour.

The Terriers signed the 22-year-old from Southampton in 2011 and he has since scored twice in 42 appearances.

He told the club website: "The manager has been great with me when I came back from my injury as being back in the team let me hit the ground running.

"The club have shown a lot of faith in me and now I want to repay that."

Gobern returned from a six-month ankle injury in February and was a regular starter after Mark Robins replaced Simon Grayson as Huddersfield manager, appearing in every league game since his appointment.

Robins added: "Oscar has performed well during my time here but clearly has potential to improve.

"The club took up the option of a year's extension on Oscar's previous contract but we had to secure him on a longer contract and I am delighted this has been done."
