Scotland Under-21 defender Stephen O'Donnell has extended his stay with promoted Partick Thistle.

The 21-year-old has agreed a new two-year contract with the Division One champions.

O'Donnell was a youth player with Aberdeen and Celtic before joining Thistle in 2011.

Thistle's website states that the Glasgow club hope to be in a position to make further announcements about signings early next week.

Midfielders Chris Erskine and Paul Paton are exiting Firhill having agreed to join former Thistle manager Jackie McNamara at Dundee United, who will be rivals in the Scottish Premier League next season.

However, goalkeeper Scott Fox, midfielder Ross Forbes and forwards Kris Doolan and James Craigen have agreed to extend their stay in the squad inherited by Alan Archibald in January.
