Swindon captain Alan McCormack has confirmed to BBC Wiltshire he is to leave the club and is set to join League One rivals Brentford.

The 29-year-old was offered a new deal by Town, but failed to agree terms.

The former Southend and Charlton midfielder has spent the last two seasons at the County Ground, making 98 appearances and scoring twice.

McCormack's final appearance for the Robins came against Brentford in the play-off semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Gary Hooper and Callum Rice are stepping down from the Swindon board.

The duo were part of the consortium, led by chairman Jed McCrory, which completed a take over of the club in February.
