Iya Mohammed: Detained Cameroon FA boss to contest election

Cameroon FA (Fecafoot) president Iya Mohammed will still stand for re-election on Wednesday despite being detained.

Mohammed is being held in connection with alleged financial mis-management at the country's state-owned Cotton Development Company, of which he is director general.

He was first arrested on 10 June as he returned from watching Cameroon lose 2-0 in Togo in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.

Fecafoot has indicated Mohammed has authorised his first vice-president Alim Konate to represent him during the elections.

The other two candidates for the top job at Fecafoot are John Begheni Ndeh, the former Transport Minister and Marlene Emvoutou.

Fecafoot has twice delayed the elections recently, they were first suspended on 24 May for "security reasons" and then again postponed from 11 June.
