Cameroon postpone FA elections again

The Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has delayed its elections once more and is now proposing to hold them on 19 June.

The Fecafoot elections were first suspended on 24 May for "security reasons" and then rescheduled for 11 June, which has now also been scrapped.

The new date is also in doubt as world football's governing body Fifa wants to ensure the elections will be secure.

And Fifa wants that guaranteed in writing by the Cameroon government.

"With the elections billed for June 19, it is important that the authorities make a pronouncement on June 10," Fifa's assistant secretary general Markus Kattner wrote in a statement.

"We understand from the meeting with the Cameroon Prime Minister that elections would be held on 19 June.

"But considering the events of the past weeks, it would be important that the authorities give assurance of their support in the electoral process either by letter to the federation, or a press release alone or jointly with the federation."
