Barnsley have signed striker Chris O'Grady from Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old made 16 appearances on loan for Barnsley last season, scoring six goals.

He told the club website:, external "I'm looking to continue where I left off last season and get goals.

"The signings of Dale Jennings and myself show the club are doing the right things. If we can repeat our form of 2013 we can achieve what we want."

He added: "Last season I was determined to give everything from the first minute and happily the fans here took to me and that spurred me on to do well for them.

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft had an offer for O'Grady turned down at the end of last season.

The forward had a year left on his contract with Wednesday, but his opportunities looked to be limited at Hillsborough.
