Chief executive Martyn Starnes has announced he is to leave Yeovil to take on the same position at Plymouth.

Starnes had been in his role at Huish Park for five-and-a-half years, having previously worked at Swindon Town.

"Martyn brings years of experience in running football clubs," said Argyle chairman James Brent., external

"He has demonstrated that, even for a club which has a much smaller fan base than Argyle, financial prudence can be combined with league success."

Starnes' departure comes two months after Yeovil secured promotion to the Championship for the first time in their history, after beating Brentford in the League One play-off final.

"It is a measure of Martyn's confidence in Argyle that he has decided to join us from a newly promoted Championship club," added Brent.
