Bradford City have signed winger Mark Yeates on a two-year contract following his release by Watford.

The 28-year-old is the League One club's second signing in as many days following the acquisition of former Rochdale midfielder Jason Kennedy.

Yeates played 30 matches for Watford in the Championship last season, scoring four goals.

City have also confirmed midfielder Nathan Doyle, 26, has signed a new one-year contract at Valley Parade.

Yeates will link up with Phil Parkinson for the third time, the Bradford boss having previously signed him on loan during his time in charge at Hull City and Colchester United.

Parkinson said: "I think Mark will be a wonderful addition to the squad. He has played most of his career at Championship level and we feel he'll bring a lot of ability to the football club."

Doyle, meanwhile, originally joined City on the eve of the club's historic 2012/2013 season, which saw them win promotion via the play-offs and reach the League Cup final, and his decision to sign a new deal comes less than 24 hours after team-mate Carl McHugh signed a new contract with the club.

Parkinson said: "Nathan was a key performer in the side last season and he adds versatility and quality to the squad. Hopefully we can get even more out of him this season."
