Forward Lewis Guy has become a free agent after cancelling his contract at St Mirren by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old Englishman spent last season with the Buddies after being released by MK Dons.

He scored five goals in his first eight games for the Paisley side but netted only once more before the end of the campaign.

Last month, St Mirren manager Danny Lennon revealed Guy was having a trial with Carlisle.

The striker started his career at Newcastle and has also played for Doncaster, Hartlepool, Oldham and Oxford.
