Nuneaton Town have signed former AFC Telford United midfielder Phil Trainer on a one-year deal.

The 32-year-old ex-Oxford United player left the Bucks after their relegation from the Conference Premier.

He is Boro's second signing in four days following teenage loan defender Amari'i Bell's arrival from Birmingham.

Deals have also been done for striker Greg Pearson (Grimsby) and ex-Boro loan men Connor Taylor (Walsall) and Louis Moult (Northampton Town).

Boro's first summer signing was utility player Theo Streete from Alfreton Town.

All of Nuneaton's new arrivals have signed one-year contracts at Liberty Way.

Trainer, who had been offered a new deal at the Bucks Head, will link up again with his old Telford team-mate Gavin Cowan.

Boro boss Kevin Wilkin first tried to sign Trainer in 2009, before he went to Telford.

Taylor initially joined Boro on loan from the Saddlers last October, making 20 appearances, nine of them from the bench.

Former Stoke City trainee Moult scored once in 17 appearances in his first spell at Liberty Way last season.
