Former Celtic captain Stephen McManus has become Motherwell's sixth summer signing.
The 30-year-old defender has joined on a one-year deal after the expiry of his contract at Middlesbrough.
McManus, capped 26 times for Scotland, had endured an injury-ravaged time at the Riverside Stadium.
"I always had an idea then that I was going to come here; even though it was a hard decision given other clubs were interested," he said.
"From the minute I came in the door for the first time, there was a real family atmosphere and that is what drew me to the club.
"I just can't wait to get started, I will give it my best shot and we will see how it goes."
McManus moved to Boro from Celtic for £1.5m in July 2010, external after 12 years with the Glasgow club.
However, injury blighted his stay in England's north-east and a loan spell at Bristol City was also curtailed by injury.
Paul Lawson, Iain Vigurs, John Sutton, Fraser Kerr and Gunnar Nielsen are 'Well's other signings this transfer window.
