Bongani Khumalo's dramatic 89th-minute header saw Doncaster through to the second round of the Capital One Cup with a narrow win over Rochdale.
Rovers striker Chris Brown saw a header cannon off the crossbar, before Dale keeper Josh Lillis denied a stunning drive from James Coppinger.
For Dale, Matt Lund twice went close with curling efforts.
But Tottenham loanee Khumalo headed in his first goal for Doncaster from David Cotterill's free-kick for victory.

Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"There's a little bit of relief to get the first win out of the way. The main thing in a cup competition is to be in the hat for the next round.
"We started both halves well by moving the ball quickly and causing them problems but there seems to be tendency to take our foot off the gas after the first 20 minutes.
"Their goalkeeper made some fantastic saves and there's always some shocks in these competitions so I'm please to have done the job.
"We need to be a bit more clinical and once we get one or two goals then I think they'll start flowing."
