Dartford have signed Gillingham striker Adam Birchall on a long-term loan deal.

The 28-year-old was placed on the transfer list in May after he failed to find the net during his 15 appearances last season.

He joined the Darts on loan last season for a month in order to help his recovery from a injury and scored once in six outings.

"He is an excellent player and will bring that little bit of extra quality to the squad," said boss Tony Burman.

"When I met Adam in the summer he told me that the only non-League club that he wanted to play for was Dartford.

"I know he has the desire to get things right and that's why I wanted to wait and be patient to secure his services."
