Wrexham battled well as ex-Wales boss Mark Hughes picked a strong Stoke City side in their pre-season friendly at the Racecourse Ground on Sunday.

Jonathan Walters gave Premier League Stoke victory against their Conference Premier hosts with the only goal.

The former Wrexham striker came off the bench at half-time and made an immediate impact with a fine volley.

Dragons goalkeeper Joslain Mayebi was kept busy, but Brett Ormerod nearly snatched a draw with a close header.
