Stevenage sign Peter Hartley from Hartlepool

Stevenage have signed Hartlepool defender Peter Hartley for an "undisclosed five-figure" fee.

The length of the 25-year-old's contract has not been announced.

He joined Hartlepool from Chesterfield in 2009 and has gone on to play 181 games, scoring 10 times.

"The training ground here is different class, the attention to detail in and around the club is brilliant and I can't wait to get going," he told the club website.

"I'm delighted to be here and I'm looking forward to getting my head down."
