Substitute Yoann Arquin secured Notts County a hard-earned draw at Walsall for their first point this season.

Saddlers keeper Richard O'Donnell kept his side in it early on, denying both Mark Fotheringham and Danny Haynes.

Romaine Sawyers gave the hosts the lead with his first goal for the club just after the break when he shrugged off his man and struck from 25 yards.

But Arquin came off the bench to head home Alan Sheehan's cross before having a late strike disallowed for offside.

Both sides had chances to win it - Walsall defender James Chambers cleared off the line with the ball bouncing around the six-yard box, while at the other end Malvind Benning was denied by a brilliant save by Bartosz Bialkowski.

However, the score remained 1-1 and ended Walsall's 100% winning record for the season while breaking County's points duck.
