Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund beat Eintracht Braunschweig

Substitute Jonas Hoffmann inspired Borussia Dortmund to a 2-1 home win over Eintracht Braunschweig.

The 21-year-old striker came off the bench to open the scoring on 75 minutes before winning a penalty, which substitute Marco Reus converted.

Newly promoted Braunschweig pulled one back on 88 minutes, when Robert Lewandoswki deflected Kevin Kratz's header into his own net.

Dortmund are one of five teams to have won their first two Bundesliga games.

Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Mainz 05 and Werder Bremen are the others, with Dortmund topping the table on goal difference.

The Champions League runners-up gave a league debut to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a £25m signing from Shakhtar Donetsk, while Poland midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski and Greece defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos made their first starts.

But they were made to work hard for the victory against a well-organised Braunschweig side, who are one of five teams yet to claim their first point.

Hoffman, making just his fifth Bundesliga appearance, made the breakthrough, scoring from a narrow angle after a one-two with Mats Hummels.

With four minutes left, Hofmann was tripped in the penalty area, leaving Reus to fire home the penalty.

Dortmund still had to survive a nervy ending after Kratz's 89th minute header bounced off the back of Lewandowski's head and went into the net, the first league goal Dortmund have conceded this season.
