Celtic manager Neil Lennon settles new contract

Manager Neil Lennon has agreed a new contract at Scottish champions Celtic.

However, the 42-year-old remains on a one-year rolling deal and has not received a pay increase.

"It's a new contract, but there no change on remuneration," Lennon explained. "It's still a one-year rolling contract.

"There were just a few legal stipulations and conditions I wanted tweaked a little and club has agreed to it and I signed it this morning."

Lennon, who captained Celtic during a seven-year spell as a player, was appointed caretaker manager in March 2010 following the dismissal of Tony Mowbray.

He was given the job on a full-time basis in early June, winning the Scottish Cup in his first full season.

Lennon won his second successive championship last season as well as picking up the Scottish Cup again and reaching the last 16 of the Champions League.

"Unfortunately for me, it is not a bumper contract as was reported but it is nice thinking that way," added Lennon.

"The rolling contract works for both parties, that is the way it was for Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan and I am no different.

"There are other stipulations in the contract that I have agreed to but in terms of remuneration it is the same as it was."
