Glentoran and Ballinamallard fail to score in a hard fought draw at The Ova

Eddie Patterson's Glentoran slipped down to fifth place in the Irish Premiership table after being held at home by Ballinamallard United.

The Glens had most of the play but lacked a cutting edge as they aimed to win back-to-back league fixtures for the first time since February.

United, beaten three time by Glentoran last term, did have their chances.

Ryan Campbell had a left-foot shot strike a post while home defender Jason Hill had to make a goal-line clearance.

The Glens pressed late on but a Jordan Hughes shot was too high and Jonathan Addis directed a header over the bar.

Unbeaten Glentoran have five points from their three games played, one more than seventh-placed Ballinamallard.
