Chesterfield sign FC United midfielder Ollie Banks

Chesterfield have signed young midfielder Ollie Banks from FC United of Manchester for an undisclosed fee.

Banks has agreed a two-year contract with the Spireites.

The 20-year-old, who was released by Rotherham at the end of 2011-12, has been playing non-league football since leaving the Millers.

He told the club website: "I can't tell you how happy I am after two years out of the professional game. It's a very exciting time to be joining the club."
