Coleraine have moved up to seventh in the Irish Premiership after edging out Warrenpoint at the Showgrounds.

The hosts struck twice just before the break with Gary Browne tapping in from a Shane Jennings pass before Stephen Lowry curled into the corner.

Warrenpoint stormed back at the start of the second half and Daniel Hughes rifled in before Liam Bagnall netted the equaliser from a rebound.

Browne won it with a chip which hit the bar before bouncing over the line.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney was delighted with his team's response after Town levelled through Bagnall's strike on 59 minutes.

"In that position a year ago we may have crumbled and lost," said Kearney.

"But credit to the lads, we steadied the ship, created chances and should have won more comfortably.

"We put in a really good first-half performance and scored two good goals although Warrenpoint blitzed us at the start of the second half.

"It was a great chip from Gary Browne to win and I'm just pleased to come away with the three points."

The defeat leaves Warrenpoint six points adrift of 10th place but they remain a point above basement club Ards.
