Paris St-Germain missed the chance to overtake Monaco at the top of France's Ligue 1 as two of Europe's emerging financial giants shared a 1-1 draw.
Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic put PSG ahead with a fifth-minute volley, before Monaco's Radamel Falcao, a £50m summer signing, levelled on 21 minutes.
PSG's £55m acquisition Edinson Cavani spurned two stoppage-time chances to clinch victory for the home side.
The draw maintains Monaco's two-point lead over PSG after six games.
Owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, newly promoted Monaco spent about £144m in the close season, while PSG's Qatari owners paid about £96m for new players.
Elsewhere in the French top flight, there were plenty of goals as Lyon beat Nantes 3-1, Nice thrashed Valenciennes 4-0 and Lorient drew 3-3 with Bordeaux.
