David Moyes says Sir Alex Ferguson's book has had no effect on Rooney

Manchester United manager David Moyes says he has no concerns over Wayne Rooney's focus after the release of Sir Alex Ferguson's autobiography.

The book reveals Rooney, 27, demanded a move the day after United won the Premier League and that Ferguson had concerns over the striker's fitness.

"Wayne is completely focused on his football. He has been since the first day back in pre-season," said Moyes.

"He's in good form - he's looking after himself and playing well."

Moyes added: "Alex Ferguson can do what he wishes. He's his own man. Certainly everyone at Old Trafford would love to hear what he has to say - the supporters certainly would.

"He has great knowledge and I am sure a lot of people will enjoy reading it.

"I am sure I will [read it] when the time arises - I have not got much time in this job, that's for sure."

Rooney is among the high-profile names referred to in Ferguson's second autobiography, which was published on Tuesday.

It states Rooney went to Ferguson's office "the day after we won the league and asked away" but the former manager decided to let successor Moyes decide on Rooney's future.

The book also details arguments with former Manchester United players Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy and David Beckham.
