Chesterfield 2-0 Daventry Town

Part-timers Daventry held on until the second half before two Chesterfield goals ensured their first FA Cup first-round appearance ended in defeat.

The Southern League Division One Central side twice went close in the first half, with Ross Oulton forcing a diving save just before the break.

They continued to frustrate the home side until Gary Roberts got on the end of a free kick.

Jimmy Ryan's deflected 25-yard shot then ended Daventry's Cup dream.
