England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley has joined Manchester City Ladies.

The 29-year-old, who left Lincoln Ladies at the end of last season, has signed a two-year deal with the club.

She follows international team-mate Jill Scott to the Sky Blues.

The US-born player said: "I'm thrilled and ready to get started. I'm looking forward to playing my part in the club's bid to become a dedicated and competitive team that can challenge for the title."

Although born in California, Bardsley chose to represent England internationally as her parents are from Greater Manchester.

She has 34 caps for the national side after making her international debut in 2005.
