Premier League predictions: Lawro v Gaz Coombes
- Published
BBC Sport's football expert Mark Lawrenson is pitting his wits against a different guest each week this season.
This week he takes on former Supergrass frontman and Manchester United fan Gaz Coombes.
Gaz has released a new single 'Buffalo', external and is in the studio working on his second solo album, due out next year. He joins Paul Weller in playing 'The Christmas Tree Sessions' in aid of Save the Children, external on Thursday, at the Union Chapel in London.
He grew up in Oxford but has supported United since he was a boy in the early 1980s.
"The United then were not the United we know now," Coombes told BBC Sport. "We never really looked like winning the title in those days and all my mates were Liverpool fans.
"I was lucky enough to be at the Nou Camp when we won the Champions League in 1999. That was probably the best footballing moment of my life. Supergrass were over there to play a show for Radio One and we managed to get some tickets.
"It was incredible, such a roller-coaster night. It had not been a great game, I had been drinking loads of really heavy dark Spanish lager all day and towards the end of the 90 minutes, when we were 1-0 down, my head had started to hurt and I felt like I was ready for bed in a bit.
"Then Teddy Sheringham equalised and I had not stopped shouting and screaming with joy when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored the winner two minutes later. My headache went away and it was just utter elation. It was a bizarre game but an incredible one."

A correct result is worth ONE point. A correct score earns THREE points.
Last week, Lawro got six results right, with one perfect score. His score of eight gave him victory over impressionist Alistair McGowan, who also got six correct results, but with no exact scores.
We're keeping a record of the total scores for Lawro and his guests (below), and showing a table of how the Premier League would look if all of Lawro's predictions were correct (also at the bottom of the page).

LAWRO'S PREDICTIONS
TUESDAY
All kick-offs 19:45 GMT unless otherwise stated.
Crystal Palace 1-0 West Ham
WEDNESDAY
Arsenal 2-0 Hull
Fulham 1-2 Tottenham
Liverpool 5-1 Norwich
Liverpool did not perform at Hull on Sunday, but that was partly down to the fact that hat-tricks in his last three games against them, and hit seven goals in total.
The Liverpool fans will demand a performance too, as a reaction to what happened against Hull, and I think they will get one.
Lawro's prediction: 3-0
Gaz's prediction: 3-0
Man Utd 0-1 Everton
Southampton 2-3 Aston Villa
Stoke 0-0 Cardiff
Sunderland 3-4 Chelsea
Swansea 3-0 Newcastle
West Brom 2-3 Man City
Lawro's prediction: 0-2
Gaz's prediction: 1-2
